Closure

Please click here to see my end of the year Animoto Video! I hope you enjoy, I sure did.

As my time at NRE ended I was very sad. Those kids have impacted my life in a way that no other people can do. They are innocent and loving. I tried to hold back the tears as i hugged their little necks. As they asked me if I was going to be in 1st grade, I tried not to loose myself.

Three more mondays!

Well folks, it's almost a wrap. After 2 years of being part of this internship I know I have found my calling. There is no doubt in my mind that I could teach kids everyday for the rest of my life. I find such a joy in children, they never fail to make me smile. As this years ends, I am very sad to leave my kiddos. I am leaving this certain that I have chosen a happy future.

What Teachers Want Parents to Know

Teachers need parents to understand that the responsibilty for their child's education doesn't rely soley on the teacher. Disiplines need to brought to the home too.
Also, they need to know that not everything is the teachers fault, sometimes their child may behave differently than they say.

That the parents and teachers need to be on the same page.

Edutopia

After veiwing this Edutopia, it makes me begin to think....

What if math was taught in a way that I understood it? If someone took tha time and the resources to teach me in a creative way...who knows... I might like it?

Science is so important and I feel like if  I were taught in a different way I wouldn't be so scared of it.

I feel like I have a general knowledge of money management but couyld learn so much more.

I definatly think that if I had been taught Financial Literacy I would be MUCH better off!

The Rules

The Ron Clark Academy has Developed their set of the "Essential 55" classroom rules. For my classroom my top 5 rules would be as follows:

1. Love conquers all.
2. Everyone is an expert in something.
3. Don't limit yourself to what you have done in the past.
4. Practice makes permanent.
5. "Don't nobody love nobody"

Make it Happen 2012

As a new semester is upon us i have decided to share 3 things i would like to change!

  • I will no longer procrastinate on homework/things that are due! For the past 13 years I have put everything off until the last minute...No More!!! As a result of this I will be more successful in college!
  • I will make sure that I am always present in my first period! Unfortunately I have had a slight problem with that this year.... 7:30am is too early. As a result of this I will make better grades/ learn responsibility.
  • Lastly, I will make sure that i show all of the people that I care about that they mean something to me...after all, all we have one semester left. I would't want to leave High School and not tell everyone how important they are to me.

The Ideal Classroom

My Ideal Classroom would be an inviorment of encouragement and excitment...but not relaxation. For that i beleive there is a time and a place. My classroom would be filled with round tables because i feel children learn from eachother. We would have an area to read and relax. My science would be held outside as much as possible... because science is all around us! Math would be taught hands on. And everyone would love to learn together.

Grinch or Santa

"Maybe Christmas", he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!" -The Grinch

Three reasons Children should celebrate chritmas parties in school.
  • 92 percent of American Celebrate Christmas in their homes.
  • This season brings Joy and Happiness.
  • Childeren celebrate every other "Holiday" from Halloween to Valentines Day.

"The American Teacher"

After watching the movie "American Teacher" i felt sad to know the reality teachers face, yet still excited to face an over come some of the same challenges for the betterment of children. I felt like most of the teachers frustration lay in the non sufficiant pay salary. I feel conditions could improve if teachers were givin more respect in scociety.
